Justin worked as the Grade 8 & 9 teacher for the Lesedi Outreach Programme at HeronBridge College during 2017. It was during this time that he founded EduLift SA after discussions with the Lesedi team revealed a massive 100 students on a waiting list. Justin called upon his friends for assistance, and together they built EduLift SA  which now offers its own free Saturday School programme to more than 200 children from underprivileged communities in Johannesburg.  During the national coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown, he started the Meals For Life initiative to keep EduLift SA involved with communities that were struggling even though EduLift SA could not run its normal Saturday School classes. He often quotes the struggle stalwart, Charlotte Manye Maxeke, “This work is not for yourselves. You must shake that spirit of self and not live above your people, but live with them. If you can rise, bring someone with you.”
